Perskill research guides

Use Perskill persona skills in Claude Code

A persona skill gives an agent reusable instructions for applying a thinking framework. You can inspect the files before installing them, change the instructions for your project and remove the skill when it no longer helps.

Inspect the skill before installing

Each persona folder includes SKILL.md, SYSTEM_PROMPT.md, PROFILE.md and USE_CASE_PROMPTS.md. Read the instructions and their limitations. A public figure’s name does not establish expertise, accuracy or endorsement.

Install a project-local skill

Run these commands from your project directory after inspecting the repository. They refuse to replace an existing clone or skill folder. The copy applies to this project’s Claude Code workspace.

git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/ekcheungAI/perskill.git perskill-source
mkdir -p .claude/skills
node -e 'const fs=require("node:fs"); const dest=".claude/skills/charlie-munger"; if(fs.existsSync(dest)) throw new Error("Skill already exists; inspect it before replacing"); fs.cpSync("perskill-source/skills/charlie-munger", dest, {recursive:true, errorOnExist:true, force:false});'

Claude Code discovers skills in .claude/skills/. Start a fresh session in that project and ask it to use the installed Charlie Munger perspective. Inspect the answer and its assumptions; installation does not verify the persona’s reasoning.

To disable the skill, move its folder out of .claude/skills/ to a location you choose. Keep any edits you want to reuse. Installed copies do not update automatically.

Prompt, skill or MCP?

FormatUse it for
PromptCopy instructions into a compatible chat or system-prompt field.
Skill folderLet a compatible agent load reusable instructions and reference files.
MCP serverExpose catalog and prompt tools to an MCP client. This is a separate integration; copying a skill does not configure it.

Read an educational prompt preview or inspect the MCP server documentation.

Sources and limits

Claude Code’s official skills documentation describes skill discovery and project scope. Perskill’s repository supplies the persona files. These are educational interpretations and do not represent the people they study.
